Roberts Complete Auto Care opened its doors in Barrie in 2012, but the story behind it goes back much further than that.

Doug Roberts spent his entire adult life in the automotive industry. He started as an auto body technician, and in 1979 he opened Roberts Collision, his own auto body shop right here in Barrie. In 2003, he brought the shop under the Fix Auto brand, and it became Fix Auto Barrie North — a business that continues to operate today. Doug had a vision that went beyond collision repair though. He wanted to offer Barrie families a complete, trustworthy place to bring their vehicles for everything. So he opened Roberts Complete Auto Care right across the parking lot, creating a one-stop shop for mechanical repair and everything in between.

Doug believed the automotive industry deserved to be respected. He ran his shop with integrity and honesty, never recommending work that wasn’t needed, always explaining what was happening and why. In an industry that has earned a complicated reputation, he was determined to be different — and he was.

Doug Roberts passed away on June 16th, 2024. He was a good man, a great businessman, and the kind of father who built something worth carrying forward. We miss him every day.

Today, Roberts Complete Auto Care is co-owned and operated by Derek Clark alongside the Roberts family, who continue to carry Doug’s vision forward. Derek runs the shop day to day, and he does it the same way Doug always did — with his sleeves rolled up, his door open, and his name behind every job that leaves the bay.

The names may have changed slightly, but nothing else has. The same values Doug built this place on — honesty, integrity, genuine care for the customer and their vehicle — are what we get up every morning to deliver.

Our team feels it too. The people who work here are proud to be part of a shop that actually lives what it says. We won’t upsell you. We won’t recommend work your car doesn’t need. We’ll show you what we found, explain it clearly, and let you make the informed decision. That’s what Doug always believed customers deserved, and we believe it too.
